Hello...
Hello everyone...
I'm an IT professional looking at starting a work from home/part time, to maybe become full time dropship/reseller business. Any tips, tricks and hints would be great. Not sure where to get started. Good luck to all you other newbies.
Later.
Matt.

Hi Matt,
Welcome to Dropship Forum
The first thing to do is ... avoid what everyone else is doing ;)
Dropshipping puts you at an immediate disadvantage vs resellers buying in bulk. Therefore, if you want to make a profit from dropshipping, you MUST find a unique sales angle. here are two suggestions:
1. Choose a niche, a target sector, possibly relating to your hobbies or to anything you have always enjoyed doing (generally any hard to find items, or high price tag items, or any items for which buyers will not compromise on price are good starting points).
2. Start from content: if you want to sell online, where content is king, start by launching content sites centered around your chosen niche. Use tools like WordPress to create one or more blogs focused on topics that relate to your niche.
3. Contact manufacturers: there are thousands of niche manufacturers that produce superior products, that are willing to dropship, and that can offer you that uniqueness that you'll need to make it in the cut-throat business of online reselling.
4. Never pay to have your products dropshipped: middlemen ask for fees, top level dropshippers want you on board as a reseller and will never dare ask for money to be one of their agents.
This is our recommended starting blueprint, it is generic, and there is a lot more that could be said depending on your circumstances. Once you have experimented with your first niche, consider venturing into related markets to leverage existing costs and become more competitive.
Hope this helps ;)
